Seeing Double: Yves Saint Laurent/ Zara

Despite my too-large-it's-ridiculous collection of leather jackets/bombers/ trenches (yes, I have a leather trench), I have come to the realisation that enough will never be enough for a shopaholic/hoarder like myself.

In my spare time (i.e time that should be spent studying) I like to browse the Harrods website-as you do. Soon enough I found myself swooning/ salivating/ almost-crying-with-longing over this YSL leather jacket.

Cue the jacket!

This beauty comes with the hefty price tag of £2,950. In other words- 'f*cking hell!'

You can imagine how my heart skipped a beat when browsing Zara  I came across this......

Prepare yourselves:

How could I not bring her home?

There are several things I love about this jacket:

  1. Made from the softest, butteriest lambskin I have ever felt. I swear, this leather is better quality than my Armani jacket that sure as hell cost a lot more.
  2. The detail on this piece is beautiful and subtle, giving it a much more expensive feel. I would definitely assume this was designer if I saw a girl wearing it on the street.
  3. It is very light- an essential when it comes to jackets for me. I am very slight and petite and generally find it very uncomfortable to wear heavy jackets for more than an hour or so.
  4. Finally, it only set me back £149.99! ( seems like alot but for leather of this quality I was very happy to hand over my card)

All in all, this girl is very happy !

What's in My Bag-Travel Edition

Heading off to Zurich this morning and whilst on flight I decided to do an impromtu 'What's in my bag' post. I probably looked like a massive weirdo taking pictures at all angles of my bag.
Although this bag doesn't get much use in London, it is perfect for travelling; light, waterproof, pockets everywhere, goes with anything and still chic enough to spruce up any outfit. Love it!
 Stuff :/

  • Passport and Boarding Pass-nothing more to say really
  • Phone-which I assure was off during flight
  • Ray Ban sunnies which judging by the weather, I don't think I shall be needing
  • Louis V wallet
  • Makeup bag
  • My current read: 'The Handmaid's Tale' by Margaret Atwood (weird but very thought-provoking)
  • As for duty free, well, it would be rude not to...

Purchase of the Week.

Recently I have been nurturing a serious obsession with the Acne Cypress boots in Faded Apricot. However I was always aware of ever-present fact that I will never be able to muster up £400 before they are discontinued when the season is up. So, I packed my deep lust for them away in the back of my mind and attempted to forget about it.

Until.....Yesterday I was browing through H&M and I caught sight of some boots that bore an uncanny resemblance to the Acne boots and my heart genuinely started to pound in excitement (I am being dramatic I know but you have had a similar reaction too, admit it) Anyways, I made a B-line for them only to be left in utter earth-shattering disappointment when they didnt have my size.

Here comes the rant:
Now, like Primark, I find that H&M really does not carry the same stock for the entire season and it all seems to change by the next time youre in. Which means its really inconvenient when you want to take the 'go home, think about it and come back if I really want them' approach. Also the stock is never consistent i.e. what is in one shop I simply cannot hope to find in another which again is difficult. Finally H&M NEVER HAS SIZE 4s!!!!!!!!! There are ALWAYS size 3s and size 5s but NEVER any 4s!!! Incredibly frustrating! Please do let me know if you made the same observations....

The sad thing is that I put with all this simply because H&M makes fantastic clothes, accesories and shoes at a much MUCH more reasonable price which proves the above bitching session completely invalid and unnecessary...but I needed to vent.

So, to cut a long story not so short, went to five different H&Ms in the Oxford/Regent St vicinity until I found a size 4...totally worth it.

Car Boot Loot

Okay, so here's the deal: I love car boot sales.

Why?

  • You can buy interesting and unusual clothes that you KNOW no one else will have
  • £20 can go amazingly far (no really)
  • Ridiculously expensive clothes that I could never dream of owning full price can be bought-brand new and at the most £5 (seriously, once bought a £180 leather jacket for £4-tags still on)
  • It is the only place in England where it is widely acceptable to haggle like a shameless cheapskate :)

Anyways, if by some silly reason you have never been to a boot sale, here is my day:

Here's what I bought:

-A fantastic vintage Gerard Darel blazer that would suit every occasion-

-A lovely vintage skater dress-

-Denim Waistcoat-

-Not my usual style but I plan to cut it up and make it less scary and more fashionable

-A potential 'granny dress' but with some altering hopefullly will become a garden party worthy dress-
-This absolutely stunning Burberry Prorsum shirt with this beautiful design on the back-

-A tailored jacket that would be fantastic for work-

-The most unique pair of teal silk trousers, made a B-line for it as soon as it caught my eye-

-Finally this gorgeous pair of leather aztec-style boots-

Sorry for such a picture heavy post but I hope you enjoyed :)
